Copper ferrite nanospheres composites mixed with carbon black to boost the oxygen reduction reaction

Copper ferrite nanospheres (CFNS) were prepared by a solvothermal method and they calcined at different temperatures ranging from 200?600 °C, resulting in CFNS-based materials with both surface chemistry structural features, which play crucial role the electrocatalytic activity of carbon black-containing CFNS catalysts towards oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The study was addressed to elucidate kind crystalline phases, as well responsible for enhancing ORR. pristine CFNS200 (calcined 200 °C) exhibited cubic spinel, cuprite copper main phases. In case CFNS400, it also displays phase along new (tenorite). Apart tenorite, CFNS600 hematite, spinel shifted tetragonal phase. Regarding ORR, revealed poor activities compared those catalysts. high-performing catalyst CFNS400/Vulcan terms current density onset potential its good stability. This improvement may be assigned chemical composition structure.
